February Favourites 2016

How fast has this month gone? I feel like it was just yesterday that I was so excited for February. Anyways, I thought I’d share what I have been loving this month…

image2To begin with, a few months ago I uploaded a post that included a free sample of this Clarins Daily Energizer Cleansing Gel. With no real intention of using a sample, I randomly picked it up one day this month and I actually regret not trying it sooner. No other product I’ve tried, has ever made my skin feel so clean and fresh before. So obviously, I quickly purchased the full sized version. This has definitely helped clear up my breakout, it has a great scent and if you haven’t tried this already, I urge you to do so.

image1  Makeup wipes have always been an essential in my skincare routine. I have heard that they’re not the best to use as you’re rubbing your skin etc. But for me they’re ideal. I can never just go straight to a cleanser, I always like to remove my eye makeup with a wipe first. Anyways, the Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes have been my go to this month.

My Room

This is a weird favourite, but early February I moved rooms to the biggest room in the house. Although its rather cold, I absolutely the love the extra space already. I have a great view from my window and everything seems to have its own place, at last.

Just had to take a break from writing this as I needed to give my puppy a bath. No one warned me how difficult that is to do on your own?? Anyways I can carry on now as we’re both snuggled up on the sofa watching friends…

One of my best friends bought this for me for my birthday, I was so grateful as it was my first MAC lipstick. This one, is in the shade ‘Velvet Teddy’  and I seem to be wearing it a lot. I can really see the hype about it as you can literally put it on for any occasion.

7 Years Lukas Graham

I love this song. Even though I don’t mind a variety of songs, this has definitely been a favourite throughout the month.

I’m pretty sure I found this product through Zoella. Anyways, I really like taking care of my teeth, so when I heard of this Oral B 3D White Brilliance toothpaste, I decided might as well give it a go. Glad I did because I can definitely tell the difference and I’ve probably only used this for about a week. But at the same time it was so good, I couldn’t not put it in this favourites post.

image5This could actually be in every favourites post I write because it is such an essential to my everyday life. I don’t know how I coped just using an average brush, I even take this Tangle Teezer to school with me.

Pinterest

So I made another account on Pinterest, one I’d actually be alright about linking from this blog. Anyways, I have really enjoyed creating boards on it and getting loads of inspiration for things like Prom to finding my old favourite Poet; Erin Hanson. Seriously, if you don’t already use Pinterest and this hasn’t already convinced you, at least search for Erin Hanson’s’ Poems. She is literally my favourite poet, I really don’t understand Poetry, but hers is really meaningful and whatever else one might say about good poems…

My birthday occurred this month! YAY! I had so much planned I couldn’t not include It in my favourites; I went shopping, I had a meal and sleepover with friends (which I blogged) and I got a PUPPY! Anyways,  I did do a full What I Got for my Birthday, but I also got late birthday presents today off of my Cousin, which is the Dior New Look Mascara + Dior Addict Gloss. I’ve just been so grateful throughout this whole month, I really couldn’t ask for more.

image7Finally, I had to include the new addition to the family, Alfie. He is a Golden Retriever and is currently 11 weeks old. I’ve got scratches on my arms from very playful times, bags under my eyes from restless nights and sometimes a headache that feels like it will last a lifetime. But I wouldn’t have him any other way nor could I imagine my life without him. He is the perfect bundle of joy and is making me so happy.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post, as always. Comment down below some of your favourites.

Love, Sophie

Outfit of the Day #6: Birthday Meal

Tonight, as a final celebration to my 16th Birthday, I went out for a meal with friends. Instead of just doing one photo of my actual outfit, I decided to do a little get ready with me.

16th 2

Firstly, I had a hot bubble bath to start my ‘glamming’ up process. In there, I used the Clean on Me Shower Gel and The Scrub of Your Life, both by Soap & Glory. I think this is a great mix and I just in general love all Soap & Glory scents. Afterwards, I use the Sun-kissed Tint Body Lotion, just on my legs. The great thing about this is, it doesn’t make you look orange. Which is good, cause I’m that lazy person who cannot be bothered to fake tan more than one place. Elsewhere I use the Righteous Butter Deluxe Body Shimmer Cream, this makes my skin so smooth and I love the subtle shine it gives. Finally, I use the Heels Genius and Hand Food, I love both of these products and they’re just as great for using when staying in and having a pamper night!

16th 5thNext, I move onto painting my nails. So sneakily I actually did this a few days ago, but for the sake of this blog post, let’s pretend I did it today. These nail polishes are from the Ted Baker Brilliance of Beauty range (which after trying to find, are no longer available in a set). I love how natural the shades are and I hardly have any pastel colours in my Nail Varnish collection.

16th mealOnto my next step; makeup. I’m not going into detail of how I applied any of this makeup because I have wrote posts such as A Weekend Makeup Look which goes into detail on how to achieve this similar appearance. I will however, list the things I used in order; Bourjois Happy Light Serum Primer, Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation, No7 Match Made Concealer, Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer, Revlon Eyelash Curler, Ted Baker Eye shadow Brush, No7 Mini Eye shadow palette, Ted Baker Eyeliner, Benefit Rollerlash, Real Techniques Core Collection, Ted Baker Blush with matching Brush, Soap & Glory Wonderbronze, Ted Baker Lip Balm, Mac Lipstick in the shade ‘Velvet Teddy’ and the Dior Addict Perfume.

Would someone like to hand me my award now, for adding all of those links?? Even though some of which I was not capable of finding or must be discontinued…

16th 3rdAnd here’s what the finished makeup look, looked like. But the bad blogger I am forgot to take pictures before I went out. So this is the makeup at 5 hours after I applied it, and its still going strong!

16th 4thFinally, I wore my little black dress that I featured in last week’s blog post, which you can read here.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post, as always. I do apologise for the quality of the pictures, but I had no natural light! Damn dark nights…

Love, Sophie

1 Year Blogiversary

It’s a bit late than when I would usually post on my blog. But I was desperate to post something today. Because, this day, 1 year ago, I started my blog. This is crazy for me. Mainly, as I thought I’d never stick to it. Not because I don’t love blogging, I do, I just presumed things would get in the way.

Anyways, I’m still here! Still posting every week. And I have to say I’m quite proud of myself. So I had to post just to mark this day in some way.

Moving on, to make sure this post isn’t all about my 1 year blog.

I picked up my PUPPY. Can I just say no one, ever, warned me he’d be this much work. He’s only been part of the family less than 10 hours and I’m already struggling to keep my eyes open.

He chases his own shadow. And if it’s not his shadow it’s his tail. He decided that the first thing he wanted to do when he saw my room was leave a little deposit (that’s me being polite on this blog) for me there.  When we all got our pyjamas on he wanted to bite our trouser legs.

Having said all that, making him seem dreadful. I don’t like to think of 24 hours ago when he wasn’t in my life. He follows me round, but is still an excitable puppy, so every so often he’ll run into me. Currently, he’s tucked up beside me asleep. We tried moving him away, but when he stretches and wakes himself up he just looks at me like “how have I ended up over here??” And then just wanders back to sleep by my side.

As I said previously, this naughty little pup has tired me out. So I’m going to join my little guy…

Hope you enjoyed my blog post. It was definitely short and sweet. Here’s to another year of blogging.

Love, Sophie

What I Got For My Birthday 2016

Firstly, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

But since I have no one to share this day with, I will swiftly move on. So it was my birthday on Wednesday 10th February, and I turned 16. I didn’t think I was going to be as spoilt as I was as my main present is a puppy. That I get to pick up tomorrow, eeeeegh.

Anyways, here’s what I got. All of which I am very grateful for.

16TH 3RD

Lets start off with clothes. Last weekend, my Mum took me shopping and then surprised me by paying for all the clothes I tried on in Miss Selfridge, as part of my birthday presents. I was so grateful. So to begin with, I got this Grey Eyelet Long Sleeve Top. I have been in the need for comfortable, everyday wear clothes, and this is perfect.

16TH 4TH

Another everyday wear. This is the Foldover Black Ribbed Bardot. I am honestly in love with this. And so grateful to receive this as a birthday present, its completely different to what I have in my wardrobe at the minute.

16TH 5TH

Talking about completely different. This is never what I’d usually have my eye on. But it pleasantly surprised me. And if I hadn’t of got this for my Birthday I never would have purchased this Plunge Halter Neck Dress myself.

16TH 8TH

So I didn’t like the picture I got with the front of the dress, so you can just admire the back. I am in love, I have an obsession with black dresses. Especially this Black Lace Trim Bodycon Dress.

16th 2

Also, for my birthday, my parents bought me these matching earrings and necklace. They’re just beautiful, so grateful.

16th 1

Next, one of my best friends bought me my very first MAC Lipstick. This is in the shade ‘Velvet Teddy’. I can tell why this is so popular and I am so grateful. I know my best friend reads my blog, so thank you very much!

I am also very grateful to my other best friend who bought me a Debenhams voucher, which will be used as soon as I decide to leave the house.

All together, I am so thankful to everyone who gave me anything for my birthday, or even just wished me a good day. I have plenty more birthday celebrations to come, so I’ll be sure to blog them.

Thank you x

16th

Also, I hit 100 followers, the night before my birthday! So thank you so so so much! And because of this milestone for my blog I decided to change up the logo. So you can see this at the end of this post. Or, I also retyped my ‘About‘ page, so go check that out.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post, as always.

Love, Sophie

My Favourite Photograph

This blog post is different to what I usually post. However, I’m excited to actually write about my love for photography, by showing you one of my favourite photographs in one of my favourite places.

image1This was my very first adventure to this picturesque beach. Although it took days to remove the sand from my hair, it cleared my head almost instantly, which made Saltburn Beach immediately one of my favourite places.

I remember walking aimlessly around the area with friends. We never knew quite where we were going, only that we loved the views we encountered. Stepping onto each, individual rock, I looked up. Seeing this amazing sight I knew I had to capture it.

This photograph is very memorable because from the moment this photograph was taken, I knew Photography was a hobby of mine. Whether I was good at it or not, I felt immense happiness whenever I could capture the beauty of places, that were very much hidden most of the time.

Now, I am far from being a professional photographer. So to capture this photograph, all I used was my IPhone 6 and an app called Photo Editor. Where all I did was increase the brightness and saturation. I’d love to check out this new camera technology from a company called Light, who has a pocket sized small camera that maintains the quality of a large and bulky DSLR. It also has an interactive touchscreen feature right on the camera that allows you to edit photos seconds after you take it!

Here is My Favourite Photograph.

Hope you enjoyed this very different blog post. I’m currently 3 away from 100 followers, with less than 3 days till my birthday. Both so crazy! Also Mock Exams are finishing, its coming up to my 1 year Blogiversary along with picking up my PUPPY. Can you tell how excited I am of everything to come?! Anyways, catch me on twitter, or contact me via: sophie15samantha@gmail.com

Love, Sophie
