OOTD #11: An Edgy New Look Outfit

Considering I have a great interest in fashion I don’t seem to do many ootds. Anyways that’s beside the point because I’m doing one now.

I recently bought this what I’d call ‘edgy’ (I’ve taken the word from a friend) top. And I LOVE it. It always reminds me of Phoebe from friends because she layered her outfits too. (Maybe with a dress but I’m close enough)

Top- New Look. Even though it’s a recent purchase I couldn’t find it on their website.

Jeans- New Look.

Shoes- New Look

Also a recent purchase from Missguided was this bag. I honestly think it’s beautiful, I love the embroidery and the colour. Perfect for summer.

Do you have a current favourite in your wardrobe?

Sorry for the short post. Will hopefully be back to normal next week. See you soon.

Lots of Love,

Sophie

About Me

What I Wore in a Week (College Edition)

I didn’t realise how difficult it would be to get someone in my family to take a picture of my outfit everyday. Everyone was either at work or I just forgot to ask. So I did miss a couple of days but for one of them I improvised.

Anyways, here’s what I generally wear to college (or if you know it as Sixth Form) in a week.

Monday

Monday was easily my favourite outfit. I did put the most effort into it because I was aware I was making this post. But also because I’m obsessed with my new top and when am I ever not in love with my coat?!
Grey Jeans- maybe from New look

Shoes- definitely from New look but I’m thinking sometime last year.

Coat- River Island

Top- Topshop

At this point in the week, it was cool enough to wear a coat. If you don’t know, the U.K got a mini heatwave, and trust me I wasn’t complaining.

Tuesday

I will never not think this top is cute. It’s definitely the sleeves or maybe the colour that has me in love.
Jeans and shoes the same as above.

Top- River Island

Wednesday

Let’s just pretend that this picture wasn’t taken weeks ago. Also let’s just ignore whatever I was trying to achieve by standing like that.
Anyways, this is a pretty casual outfit, I have a pretty chilled day at College on a Wednesday (in for a couple of hours) so I never see the point in making an effort.

Boots- (even though they’re not visible, trust me they’re cute) Topshop

Jeans- Same as above and further above. (Not gonna lie this is kind of highlighting my obsession to these jeans).

Top- Topshop

Leather Jacket- Which I was not wearing on Wednesday because it was warm enough not to, is from Miss Selfridge

Thursday

This hot weather we experienced really threw me off guard with what to wear. So I decided on just my classic white shirt in hopes it would keep me semi cool, it did not.
Shirt- Topshop

Jeans- New Look

Shoes- same I wore all week; New Look.

Friday

Oops, the day I forgot all about outfit choices (and this post) and ended up throwing on my “Females of The Future” Tee, my blue jeans and headed out the door for my driving lesson.

If you don’t have a uniform for during the week, do you make an effort with what you wear? I guess I’m the perfect example of starting the week strong but ending it lazily.

See you soon.

About Me

Everyday Outfits to go with Warby Parker NEW Collection

Recently, I’ve been made aware of Warby Parker’s Summer Eyewear launch. And let me tell you, I’m suffering with SERIOUS glasses envy. However, since I’m saving up for a car, insurance, and probably more importantly driving lessons it doesn’t look like I’ll be purchasing right at this very moment. But if you do, let me know!!! Having said that, it didn’t stop me from planning outfits that I thought would match with the glasses- a girl can dream right?

These jumped out at me straight away and I’m 100% certain its because of the colour. They’re so unique and I know I wouldn’t be able to get my hands on them anywhere else.

So the outfit I matched them with is this one…

I’m positive that the Light blue ruffle sleeve tie back top  would compliment the glasses very well.

I LOVE that these are two toned. I mean seriously have you seen anything cooler?!

I chose this outfit because I knew that the way the top is split in the middle by the two block colours it would go great with the glasses and how they’re split across.

I’ve also decided that this outfit is going to be my new FAVOURITE. I realise its basically all black but I was very happy with this combination.

Side note: As soon as I put on the fedora I was raking around for all other hats in my house. And these have started to make a reappearance again right?

I love these glasses for exactly the same reason I loved the first pair; they’re so different!

Since my Mum was kindly my photographer throughout this she advised me to stop wearing so much black. So i branched out with this outfit, and in all honesty I’m quite happy with the way it looks. Cause what do you do when you can’t wear black? You wear grey.

Anyways, obviously the green top matches the glasses well and I love the accessory of this Zoella Backpack.

I love the style of these and I could imagine these being an everyday essential.

I decided to try a formal look to match the glasses and I was quite happy with the outcome. The book was my Mums idea…

I don’t know whether I’d be brave enough to wear these but nevertheless I think they look so cool.

I paired it with an all black outfit (surprise surprise) and I think it would really go.

Similar to the other pair, just lighter, but I love them just as much! Maybe they would give me the sophisticated edge I’m missing?!?

I think this outfit would go well with the glasses as its just a really casual outfit.

I may have just been saving my favourite/most daring for last. How pretty are these??! I’m trying to wear more pink – she says after writing a post based off black clothing. But I just think these are super cute!

This is obviously the most dressy outfit but I knew I needed to wear it, to compete with the standards of the glasses.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post, I loved having time to be able to put so much effort into a fashion post. Also, if this post hasn’t already made you want to go check out Warby Parker, then I suggest you should, their new collection launched TODAY. How cool is that?! See you soon.

OOTD #10 Work + First Impressions of Waitressing.

Unfortunately, I missed my usual upload on Wednesday, I didn’t really know what to post and I didn’t really have the time to write one either. Anyways, I started my first ever job yesterday and thought I’d show you what I had to wear.

IMG_2397So lets just excuse the absolute state I’m in here. But in all fairness I was about to go back for the second half of the shift. I ended up working from 9:00am-12:30pm (finishing a couple hours early than I was supposed to) and then from 5:00-10:30pm. In this picture, I wasn’t wearing my apron because I forgot to take it out my bag.

So here are the links to what I’m wearing. Just in case any of you need something similar for a job:

Fitted Shirt- Matalan

Tapered Trousers- Peacocks

These stores aren’t the kind I usually shop in but I just needed a cheaper alternative when it was just for work.

IMG_2398Why not add a random picture of flowers when you literally have no pictures to go with your blog post?

Anyways, onto my first impressions of waitressing, even though I couldn’t feel my feet when I got home, I did enjoy it. Yeah, its hard work and its certainly not something I’m going to spend the rest of my life doing but for now I’m excited about it all.

Thankfully, everyone seems lovely and I’ve already made a couple of friends. The majority of customers were lovely but of course a few were unpleasant as you would get anywhere.

FullSizeRenderThroughout the week, I had been a bit stressed about how it would all go. It wasn’t really nerves but I had a bit of a mare with the splinter I mentioned at the end of last weeks post. I ended up going to the doctors TWICE just to remove a splinter. It sounds daft but it was such a pain. It stressed me out so much as I knew I couldn’t turn up on my first day at work with a huge bandage on my finger.

That’s kind of beside the point, but anyways I’m excited to see how it all pans out.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post. I’m going to start planning out my posts so it’ll go back to being regular uploads. Sorry if you don’t enjoy these types of posts. See you soon.

About Me

OOTD#9 Lunch Date

Yesterday, I went out for lunch and it gave me the idea to do an outfit post. I also added another outfit just for good measure.

img_1894I am OBSSESSED WITH THIS COAT. I bought it when I was in Newcastle and I know it will become a staple item in my Spring Wardrobe.

Light Pink Oversized Trench Coat

Burgundy Bardot Top

MOTO Black Orson Slim Jeans – these are the most similar to the ones I was actually wearing I could find.

Boots- River Island

img_1895This was a face of someone who’d eaten a lot and was very happy about it.

img_1902I’m trying out this new thing where if I buy any clothes I should avoid dark colours. Not just because Spring is round the corner but because my wardrobe pretty much consists of black. I also love this pale blue and think the sleeves are so pretty.

Light Blue Ruffle Sleeve Tie Back Top

Pink Lace Filigree Choker Pack– again the most similar I could find to what I’m wearing.

img_1897

I also really love the back of this top. It’s definitely like nothing I have in my wardrobe already.

img_1896

I just thought I’d include the reality of putting together one of these posts. My Dad suggested I stand on that stone but I was wearing new boots that I didn’t want to get dirty. So here was me struggling to get there, you’re welcome

Hope you enjoyed this blog post. Also, to recognise having my blog for 2 years I decided to change up my blog. I’ve changed the theme and tried to make it a bit more updated. Anyways, are you slowly transitioning your wardrobes for Spring or do you just go with the flow? See you soon.

About Me

Autumnal Clothing Haul

The past couple of weeks I have started to freeze going to College. So I realised it was probably time I start shopping and thinking about how I can dress appropriately during the colder months. Between clothes already in my wardrobe and stuff I picked up today, this is what I came up with.

Also, I do apologise for the pictures, it’s probably the worst background I’ve had. But it was raining outside and annoyingly it’s sunny now.

Firstly these High Waisted Super Skinny jeans are honestly the comfiest pair I’ve ever owned. Secondly, New look have the best sale right now. Today I picked up this Bomber Jacket for just £10 down from £29.99. Also, this white cold shoulder top for just £6.
The only different item here is the top. And I’ve had this a while now from Miss selfridge. But I’m going through the stage of really loving this at the minute. Plus it has long sleeves so it keeps me partially warm.
Today, I bought some blue jeans, these are again so comfy so I know I’ll get a lot of use out of them. I love wearing this sweater the colour and fit is good. All together I think this is a really cute outfit.
Hope you enjoyed this blog post. I might try to do a part two because this is probably not the end of me shopping for the winter months. Like, comment and feel free to follow. See you soon.

OOTD #8: Best Friend’s Birthday Meal

Since starting college, this weekend has been by far my busiest. Not even with homework, but just because I’ve actually had plans, me, that’s crazy right?!

Anyways, it was one of my Best friends birthday earlier in the week and last night we went to a restaurant to celebrate.

Here are the pictures I got my Dad to take. And if you have read a few of my posts now you’ll realise that when I ask my Dad to help take blog pictures, I end up with the majority of them being of my pup. I’ll let him off though, my dog is cute enough to be in my camera roll.

I’d add some links in but honestly, I have had these items in my wardrobe for so long now. I doubt any of them would still be in stock.
Also, I kept telling myself that this top was not black but a really really dark navy. However, no camera actually picks up the colour of it so I guess, yet again, I’m styling that all black outfit.

Had to include a couple of pictures that included Alfie just so you know I’m not lying when I say that I get more pictures of Alfie than of what I’m wearing.
Since I already told you all I had a busy weekend I might as well mention what I was up to today.

Let’s all just excuse this no makeup face. I realise I’m looking a tad horrendous. But everyone needs at least one day of the week to not wear makeup. And mine was today…Can I find someone that looks at me the way that I look at my dog? No, alright then…
Hope you enjoyed this blog post. I do apologise that it was more picture based. Comment down below what you’ve been up to recently, I really need to stay connected with the blogging community. See you soon.

Back to School: Top 5 Outfit Choices

On Wednesday, I start College/Sixth Form and I wanted to make sure I had at least 5 different outfits to last me a full week. Turns out, I have way more than that but I didn’t want this post to keep dragging on. So here are my top 5 outfit choices…

img_0237

I mentioned this outfit in my ‘August Favourites‘. Therefore, its really no surprise its made it into my Top 5. I love how this top flows and it doesn’t matter how I wake up feeling this is perfect to wear.

High Waisted Black Jeans

Black Sateen Bardot Neck Top

image4

This is probably the most colourful outfit I have in my wardrobe. I love this sweater, it is so comfortable. And can we also just ignore my no makeup face, thanks.

Batwing Crop Sweater

Grey Skinny Jeans

image3Firstly, I love these dungarees as they are so wearable with whatever. Plus if you don’t have a plain white shirt in your wardrobe, then why not?

Also, dear dungaree lovers (that sounds so weird). Does anyone know where I can get a good paid of Dungarees that are skinny trousers?

Black Dungarees

White Oversized Shirt

image5I love this sleeveless jacket. I personally think adding this to any outfit really completes the look.

Grey Sleeveless jacket

image2This top is my most recent purchase and I think its so pretty. I know this outfit will be a definite staple in my wardrobe for college.

Black Bardot Top

Hope you enjoyed this blog post, I can’t believe I’m starting college soon. Like where has the 10 week Summer gone? Anyways feel free to like, follow and comment what you’ve been doing to prepare for school. Just passed 390 followers on here so thank you so much! I always aimed for 400 by the end of Summer and we’ve practically done that. And finally, I am still going to try and post twice a week, so I’ll just see how that goes. See you soon.

About Me

My Dream Closet

Today, I’ve been spending a few hours putting together some of my staple pieces to make different outfits and designing my very own closet…IT WAS A LOT OF FUN!

So firstly, I would like to share with you a couple of clothing items that I’d find a necessity in my dream closet.

I love my black high waisted jeans and my grey sleeveless jacket, therefore, they would definitely have a place in my wardrobe.

Also a staple would be an oversized white shirt and a black leather jacket.

Next, the part I really enjoyed; designing my own closet. Here’s what I came up with…

make space 5 make space 6

make space 7Interestingly, according to the Mail Online: ‘in every woman’s closet 22 items she never wears.’ This made me think about how much of our clothing doesn’t go to use because of either its out of season or that its simply too sentimental to let go of. (Please tell me I’m not the only one who does the latter?!) And with space and minimalist views being a problem who knows where to store their clothing? That’s where MakeSpace comes to the rescue. They’re a company that provides that extra space. Simple right? All you need to do is download the app, request a representative to pick up your clothing and keep it safe until you’d like it back . Feel free, to click here to see if they’re near you yet, don’t worry if they aren’t, they’re expanding all the time!

make space 9.png

Hope you enjoyed this blog post. I’d love for you to comment a staple item you’d have in your dream closet and your design views, would you go for a rustic theme like mine? See you soon.

How to Style #2: Denim Shorts

Firstly, can I just say thank you so much 300 followers on my blog! That’s crazy and its a point I never thought I’d reach and I have no words left to show my appreciation.

Okay, so this post was going to be an outfit of the day because I was at my Great Auntie’s 80th Birthday Party, but if you follow my twitter (@Sophi15Samantha) you’ll know I forgot to take any pictures and the only one I got was this:

image1

Anyways, back to the point of this post, I eventually decided to do another ‘How to style’ because I thought it was about time, considering I wanted it to be an ongoing series. Although, I didn’t feel happy with the way I looked in pictures, everything seemed to go wrong and I was feeling very self conscious today but I wanted to still go through with it. So, here we go…Oh yeah, excuse my no makeup face also.

1. Crop Top

Trust me when I say that this is a crop top, but as I was saying I was feeling very self conscious so I was trying to hide anything and everything. Back to the point, I think a crop top and denim shorts is such a good look and if you’re like me and want to hide areas that’s fine too.

2. Oversized Shirt

Personally, I loved this look as it looked really laid back. I think it would be good if you wore maybe a plain top underneath and then you could unbutton it.

3. Over the top of a bikini top

So if you’re on holiday, (*cries* because I’m currently not) then a staple outfit of mine is bikini, shorts and a lace top like this one. And you can get away with it because your bikini is underneath.

Also, I was so close to missing this third point all together out because I look SO bloated in that second picture. But as always I like to keep it real on this blog, BEING A GIRL SUCKS SOMETIMES BUT THATS OKAY.

Hope you enjoyed this post, again thank you so much for 300 followers. I do apologise if you realised how aware of my appearance I was in this post but everyone has them types of days, I was just happy (kind of) to share it with you. As always, like, follow and be kind in the comments.
