Casual College Makeup Look

I’ve been back at College a week now and I’ve quickly adapted a much more time effective makeup look I can throw on before going out the door.

IMG_3852Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation (shade: soft beige)

Bourjois Blur the Lines Concealer (shade: ivory)

Starting off with foundation, I just use the tiniest amount and apply it from the middle of my face and blend it out (I read to do this somewhere and its just stuck). Then I use this concealer for any blemishes and I find because of its creamy consistency it gives that extra coverage.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (shade: fair)

Bourjois Volume Glamour Push Up Mascara

I use my holy grail concealer under my eyes and I find that the best to brighten and somewhat hide the darkness that forms after too little sleep. Since this is a really easy makeup look, I use nothing else other than a bit of mascara.

IMG_3854Maybelline Brow Drama (shade: Dark blonde)

Benefit Shy Beam

Bourjois Bronzing Powder

I still use brow gel in my easy makeup routine because somethings just need to stay in place (aka the brows).  I use a tiny amount of bronzer, just to ‘warm’ my face up a bit and whatever else it does. Okay so all makeup lovers out there don’t hate me for this, but I’ve really fallen out of love with highlighter. I just don’t want that sparkle anymore. So I’ve turned to my trusty shy beam just to give me a subtle glow.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick (shade: 15 corail intuitive)

I’m trying to hold on to whatever Summer the U.K did have by wearing this coral pink lipstick. So I put a bit of this on and I’m ready to go…

This is what I look like, as you can tell very (very) basic. For some reason, because they were both live pictures they turned out blurry and I’m not too sure how to change that?

Have you been loving makeup recently? Or are you like me and are just wanting something quick and easy?

Love, Sophie

About Me

Everyday Makeup Look

The irony of me titling this post a ‘Everyday Makeup Look’ yet I never seem to have the energy to do this myself. Never mind, if you were looking to put more effort into your makeup then check out this post…

L’Oréal True Match Foundation

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer– if you read My Makeup Collection post, you’ll know I purchased this just last week and I’m already in love. Especially for the price, I’ll definitely be repurchasing.

L’Oréal True Match Super Blendable Powder– which seems to have disappeared off the face of the internet.

Urban Decay Ultimate Basics Eyeshadow Palette– recently I’m wondering if its even possible to create a makeup look without this product? I’ll keep telling myself the answers no.

Ted Baker Eyeshadow Trio from the Brilliance of Beauty Gift Set -again disappeared off the face of the internet. But I love the surprisingly good pigment in this.

Rimmel London Wonder’full Mascara

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer Mini– I use this just for the bottom lashes.

Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil

Maybelline Master Brow Pro Palette Kit– using the second shade.

Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara– even if I’m not making an effort with my makeup, this is my holy grail to use. Got to use something to keep them pesky brows in place, am I right?

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Sculpt Contour Palette– I don’t use the highlighter in this just because I NEED THE SPARKLES IN MY LIFE, OKAY?

Soap & Glory Wonderbronze Shimmer Brick– I use this just to help blend out the badly applied contour I’ve usually done.

Sleek ‘Precious Metals’ Highlighting Palette– if you have read a couple of my recent posts you’re probably already aware of my love for this product.

Ted Baker Lip Balm from the Brilliance of Beauty Gift Set.

Clinique Lip Pop Lipstick in the shade ‘Beige Pop’

And here’s how it all turned out.

You can’t tell, because I forgot to take a picture of it but my highlight was fleeking, if I do say so myself.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post. I’m probably going to do a less effort everyday makeup look soon, just to portray the reality of my life. See you soon.

Love, Sophie

About Me

My Makeup Collection

For a while now I’ve been wanting to have a good clear out in my makeup drawer, and today was the day. Unfortunately, I didn’t get rid of as much as I would have liked to but maybe next time.

Anyways, I thought I’d share some of my makeup bits. I won’t link everything, just a few of my favourites.

Clearly I have A LOT of lip products.

Clinique Pop Lip in the shade Beige Pop.

MAC ‘Velvet Teddy’

Dior Addict Ultra Lipgloss

Chanel Rouge Allure

Dior Addict Lipstick in the shade ‘Be Dior’.

Dior Addict Lipstick in the shade ‘New Look’

Currently, I’ve been using the Rimmel Wonder’full mascara and the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara.

Things I forgot to include in pictures were false lashes and the Maybelline Master Brow Pro Palette.

img_2034I’ve only just bought the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and I’m very excited to try it out, especially since I’ve heard no bad reviews on it.

L’Oréal True Match Foundation

Benefit Porefessional Primer

img_2032My definite favourite out of all of these has to be the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics.

My ultimate favourite has to be the Sleek Precious Metals Highlighting Palette. ITS INSANE. I don’t think its possible for me to rave about this anymore than I already have.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post, if there’s something you want a link to that I didn’t include, feel free to comment below. Also, I’d love to know what some of your favourite makeup products are? See you soon.

About Me

My NYE Makeup Look

HAPPY NEW YEAR! It hasn’t quite sunk in that we’re now in 2017. And maybe it’s a bit pointless to put up a makeup look after the time has passed but nevertheless I thought it’d be fun to share how I did my makeup last night.

Here was what I used to prime my face and set a base before applying makeup.

L’Oreal Infallible Mattifying Primer

Benefit The Porefessional

L’Oreal True Match Foundation

L’Oréal True Match Concealer– I use this on any blemishes.

L’Oréal True Match Powder

Bourjois Blur the Lines Concealer– I like to use this under my eyes because of its creamy consistency.

To Contour:

L’Oréal Infallible Sculpt Contour Palette

Maybelline Master Brow Pro Palette Kit

Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara

Benefit Shy Beam

Ted Baker Lip Balm

MAC- Velvet Teddy

Finally Eyes, my FAVOURITE. I was super excited to do my eye makeup with my new Urban Decay Ultimate Basics palette that I received at Christmas. I started by putting the shade ‘Commando’ all over my lid. Then moved onto ‘Tempted’ and started to put it over my outer corner. Then going in with ‘Faith’ and ‘Lockout’ to build it up and create a darker smokey eye. Finally, using ‘Extra Bitter’ in on the middle portion and blended it out. I also added ‘Commando’ underneath my eye.

I applied the Maybelline the falsies push up Drama mascara on my top lashes and the Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer on my bottom lashes. I also had some Eyelure lashes on.

Let’s just excuse the fact I forgot to take makeup pictures at the beginning of the night. So my makeup isn’t looking as fresh as it was. But nevermind…

And I’ll just throw in a selfie for good measure.

Hope you enjoyed my blog post, I’m feeling very positive about this new year. I hope you all had a lovely holiday and have plenty of resolutions to start or in my case, fail dramatically. See you soon.

Love Always,

Makeup Products I’d Like to Try

Does anyone else have those products in their makeup drawer, that they never seem to get round to properly testing out? I do, so I thought I’d share them with you. Many of them are sample sizes. But all the more reason for me to try them out, to see if it would be worth buying the full sized products.

Eylure No 070

I’m starting to get much more confident with applying false lashes and these I have yet to try. The only thing that has made me hesitant until now to use them was that I have another more subtle pair of lashes I’ve been using instead.

Benefit Dew The Hoola

I have no idea why I am yet to have tried this. Maybe its because its a liquid bronzer and I’m not used to that.

Benefit Gimme Brow

I remember getting this and being super excited. But once I tried it I’m pretty sure I put too much product on because my eyebrow turned black…oops. However, I’m happy to try again and maybe be a bit more careful with application.

Benefit Operation Pore Proof

Luckily there was more than just two products in this set otherwise I may have been disappointed. But these are the only two I haven’t managed to use regularly. Hopefully, I figure out how I can use them in my usual makeup routine.

Bourjois Colour Band

This is definitely something I thought I’d use more than what I actually have. I love the shade so hopefully I find a makeup look that incorporates this.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post, its something different to what I usually upload. I would love to properly try out all these products and then review them in another post. See you soon.

Love, Sophie

About Me

Summer Makeup Look 2016

Late March, I posted a Spring Makeup Look. So I was really excited to do a Summer version. Although, I have to say they do seem like pretty similar looks.

I started off with the L’oreal Infallible Mattifying Primer. Which I have to admit, I was quite pleased I remembered to put on (anyone else forget?)

Then I used the L’oreal True Match Foundation, that I’m definitely growing to love. I also mix in with the foundation a small portion of the L’oreal Nude Magique BB cream and I will definitely be purchasing the full size soon.

Finally, to finish the base of the makeup I used the Revlon Colorstay Concealer, I love the applicator and consistency of this product. I applied this under the eyes and on any problem areas.

Moving onto eyes, I used the Bourjois Little Round Pot Nude Edition, it looks bright but it gave a subtle base.

Then from the middle to the outer edge I used the Ted Baker Eyeshadow (from the Brilliance of Beauty set).

The last step of eyeshadow was from the No7 Mini Eyeshadow palette, I used a darker shade just to define my eyes.

Finally I used the Maybelline the falsies Push up Drama mascara, I do like this mascara but if anyone has any suggestions to a mascara, I’d loved to know because I’m coming to the end of this one.
Moving onto brows, I’ve only just started actually doing something to my eyebrows and I do think you can barely tell I’ve done anything at all. Anyways, what I do use is the Maybelline Master Brow Pro Palette to create shape and to fill in then au use the Maybelline Brow Drama to set them in place.
Next, moving onto the L’oreal Infallible Sculpt contouring palette. I love this, it’s one of my favourite products in my makeup drawer. I use the the highlighter on the left under the contour, you know to hide the mess I make in the first place. Also it’s not shimmery so I think (probably wrong) that I can get away with it.

Finally, using the Soap & Glory Wonderbronze to blend out the contour a bit more and to ‘warm up’the rest of my face.

Here is the highlighter I like to use its again from the Ted Baker set. It gives such a sparkly glow to my cheek bones.
Finally, I have been wearing the Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer in the shade ‘Beige Pop’ because this is about as Summery as I’ll get with my lipsticks.
This was the finished look…

I promise it looked more pink in person.

Also I couldn’t not post a picture that hid all my flaws.

Hope you enjoyed this post. I love writing these posts but I’ve had to do it on my phone today because of my annoying laptop. Feel free to like, comment and follow. See you soon.

About Me

Prom Makeup 2016

WOOOO! It’s one of my long posts again. I am very excited to tell you what makeup I wore on my Prom day so here you go…

prom 10I started this makeup look off with eye shadow first because I realised then I can clear up any eye shadow that gets under my eye or if I have to start again there’s no panic. To begin with, I used my trusty No7 palette, not going to lie I was very tempted to purchase an Urban Decay Naked Palette but in the end I didn’t know which one to go for so I decided to just stick to what I know. Anyways I’ve added numbers so it’s easier for me to explain what shades I used in which order. So, starting off with no. 1, I used this shade as a base and across my lid. Then onto no. 2, I used this quite widely in my crease and outer corner to middle portion of my eyes. Next, I used no. 3, to go a bit darker in the outer corner of my eyes and to just define them a little more. Then, I used no. 4, this was for the inner portion of my eye, I used the Ted Baker eye shadow from the Brilliance of Beauty set. I was really impressed with it as it was much more pigmented than I expected. Lastly, I used the Bourjois Colour band Eye shadow and Liner right in the very, very inner corner of my eye to brighten it up and it certainly had that effect.

prom 9

Furthermore, I moved onto finishing off my eye makeup. So the first thing I did was use the Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner Pen and I literally kissed this product to wish me luck. I am not the best person to do eyeliner and especially with my eye shadow going to plan I would not have been happy if this eye liner let me down. However, it didn’t and I have to say it was the BEST time I have ever done my eye liner before.

Next, I used the Eylure Lengthening lashes. I actually ended up cutting these lashes because what I wanted to do was split them up so they were easier to apply. But I only managed to cut 1 portion off from each before I thought that that would do. Anyways, come Prom day I was applying the bigger portion and I just loved the look it gave and didn’t see the need of applying the last one.

Lastly, I used the Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer as it really lengthens my lashes to a length that I just love. Then I used the Dior show Mascara, which I have literally been saving until Prom and it was certainly worth the wait.

prom 11I have finally started doing something with my brows..YAY! I’m feeling very proud of myself at this moment in time. Also, I’m very glad that my eyebrows didn’t look bad considering I bought these products 48 hours before Prom and barely practised with them. So I used the Maybelline Master Brow Pro Palette, I used this very lightly and then brushed through. Finally, using the Maybelline Brow Drama to hold my brows in place. I don’t have anything to compare these products to, however, I was very happy with the outcome.

prom 5Moving onto setting my face ready for foundation, etc. I used the Benefit Porefessional, this was so good at immediately minimising the look of pores and I used this around my nose area. Lastly, I used the L’Oreal Infallible Primer, I do really enjoy using this Primer so I couldn’t leave it out when it came to my Prom makeup.

prom 6So if you read my June Favourites then you’ll know I have been mixing the L’Oreal Nude Magique BB Cream with my usual foundation Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum. I love the coverage this gives whilst still giving a light feeling on the skin. To apply this I used the buffing brush by Real Techniques from the Sam & Nic Collection. Furthermore, I used the Revlon Colour Stay Concealer which I have grown to love, it is a tad light for my skin tone Although, I love it because I apply it under my eyes which really brightens them up. Lastly, I used the Benefit Agent Zero Shine, this was absolutely amazing to set my makeup.

prom 7This combination is incredible. I started off with the L’Oreal Infallible Sculpt it is so easy to blend with. I used the highlight underneath the contour to make it ‘sharp’ which gives such a great effect. Then I go in with the Soap & Glory Wonderbronze, it gives a warm glow to my face and I used it over contour and at the top of my forehead.

prom 8Feel free to tell me I went overboard on highlighter but I loved it. So I started with the Benefit Shy Beam and it gives a more natural highlight, which I still love. But oh no, I wanted a bit of sparkle so I turned to the Ted Baker Highlight which is the middle shade. It just made the tops of my cheek bones POP. If you don’t believe me take a look..

prom 3(If you were interested this was before mascara, fake lashes or lipstick)

I also wasn’t feeling blush that day but if I were I would have used the first shade of Ted Baker because I think all three shades were blush but never mind.

prom 12

It was so difficult for me to decide what lip product I would use for Prom. I wanted to use one of my more high end lipsticks but I knew they were mainly red shades and just wouldn’t go with my dress. Finally, I wore the Mac Velvet Teddy Lipstick which I love the shade of. Then over the top, I lightly used the Dior Addict Lipgloss to keep my lips hydrated.

I do just want to apologise because in the excitement of Prom I didn’t get a proper picture of my makeup. However, I will show you the pictures I did get…

prom 2prom 4prom 1

Hope you enjoyed this post, I did warn at the beginning it would be a long one. Feel free to comment anything you would have done differently but also a link if you’ve recently done a makeup look.

Love, Sophie

May Favourites 2016

Surprisingly, I’m staying quite positive throughout these exams. Well I am now I have a week off to do my last surge of revision. Also, I’ve officially left school which is exciting, I mean I still have to go in for the rest of my exams and some lessons. However, I am one step closer to never going back there. Anyways, getting off topic there, I had a few favourites I wanted to share with you all…

may 2016These have been such a saviour for me over the past couple weeks. Recently, I have been making quick, condensed, mind maps. Which is great if you’re doing revision quite close to the exam as you can include all key terms on one sheet. Anyways, I’ve loved using these as colour just makes everything look more vibrant and positive which is definitely what I need at the minute.

may 2016 5This month, my weekends have obviously been revising. But there’s only so much I can do before I just can’t take in anymore information. Therefore, what I have loved doing is exercising, Blogilates has been the best source for this. It is so good if you just want to do 5 minutes or 20. And it seems to give me more energy to carry on revising.

may 2016 3For some reason, this month my lips have been super dry. Cleverly, I came up with a solution, I decided to use my trusty Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer to start off with and its already a really similar shade to my lips anyway. Then I add a layer of the Dior Addict Lipgloss. Just in general the lip combination works a treat and keeps my lips really hydrated.

may 2016 7If you don’t live in the U.K you might not know of Loose Women. I think and I’m probably wrong but I’d say the equivalent of this is like ‘The Real Daytime’ Show in the U.S. Anyways, I’m not in when its on T.V as it’s during the day and I’m at school. However, I love catching up on it on their YouTube channel or just itv player. I suppose its not the type of thing a typical teenager enjoys but for me I find the topics they talk about interesting.

may 2016 4

I have definitely been loving the Dior Addict Eau De Parfum Spray this month. Mainly, because of the price I only use it when I’m going somewhere other than school. However, with exams and I’m aware this sounds daft, but it just gives me the confidence and almost like luck to get through it. You will probably all think I’m crazy now but oh well.

may 2016 6My favourite youtuber this month has got to be Fabulous Hannah. If you’re not already subscribed then please do because honestly I find her to be one of the most entertaining youtubers. It doesn’t matter what she uploads it always brightens my day.

may 2016 2At the start, I mentioned how I’d left school and because of this most of the people in my year have made leavers books. If you don’t know, you just write down memories you’ve had with that person and basically just wish them good luck for the future. So as I do I jumped on the band wagon and got one myself. The page the picture is of just has teachers comments but I did get friends to write in too. At first, I wasn’t keen on the idea because I thought well surely if you’re close enough to people you’ll make a point to see them after school. However, I began to like the idea of finding out what people think of you. And it has been fun, although I need to start printing photos off for it but I don’t know where to get them from, so if any of you know any good websites I’d love to know!

Hope you enjoyed this May Favourites, I’ve liked having a bit of extra time to write such a long post. Which makes me so excited for Summer when my life will just revolve around blogging. So until next time,

Love, Sophie

Beauty Blogger Tag

I was so grateful when I got nominated for this by the lovely Hattiesmithers (if you’re not already following her, then please do I love her blog!). Anyways, I got nominated about a week ago, so for me this is going up quite late, but when I went back to school this week everything other than school became a blur. I’m very excited to do this tag and I should be back to doing normal posts next week.

The Rules are:

Tag the blogger who nominated you.

Answer the questions set for you.

Come up with 10 questions of your own.

Nominate other bloggers and don’t forget to tell them!

  1. What is your favourite Makeup brand and why?

This probably changes every week but at the minute I’m loving L’Oreal. Not just makeup, hair care, everything. I think its my favourite because its really affordable and all their products are of a high quality.

blogger award 3

2. What was the inspiration for your blog?

I don’t think I had one particular inspiration for my blog. It was mainly just me wanting to start something people could read and I would enjoy doing. To be fair I didn’t realise I’d be so consistent, never mind keep this up for over a year.

3. What is your holy grail make up product?

This question is so difficult. I think I’m going to say any of my Dior or Chanel lip products, because I was just so happy for like a month after receiving them. Also, I have them on my dressing table just to see them everyday-don’t judge

blogger award 2

4. Beauty Blender or Makeup brush?

Is it bad I haven’t tried a beauty blender yet? I actually do want to but on my ‘Makeup Shopping List’ there’s always something above it. So I guess I’d have to say Makeup Brush, I absolutely love the Real Techniques ones.

blogger award 5

5. What is your favourite affordable makeup brand?

I’d say L’Oreal is pretty affordable. But picking a different favourite I’d say Bourjois, I love their products so much. Pretty much had a quiet addiction (if that’s a thing?!) to their products since Christmas now.

blogger award 4

6. What is your favourite hobby/pastime?

Apart from School work, which I’m not classing as a hobby, all I do is blog, take photos and shop. Literally, I’m blogging now, I’ve just ordered some stuff from H&M and after this I’m going to take pictures for this post.

7. If you could only put on one makeup product for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Concealer. However, I’m beginning to actually feel comfortable going out with no makeup on. I’d still pick concealer because it just makes your complexion in general look great. I’d probably pick the No7 Match Made Concealer.

8. Who is your favourite youtuber/blogger?

I can’t pick a favourite I’m loving so many, especially youtubers. Zoella, Hannah Renée, Fabulous Hannah.

9. What is your best beauty advice?

Start minimal. You can always build it up with foundation coverage, eye shadow, etc. But its just going to look worse if you try and apply too much at once. Also, YouTube is amazing if you’re just starting off with makeup.

10. What is your favourite brand for lipsticks?

Mac. For sure, I just need more money to spend on them. But a cheaper alternative I love the Rimmel Lipsticks, they’re so good especially for the price of them.

blogger award

11. Who/what makes you happiest?

My Mum or Alfie. But an actual thing would probably be my camera or laptop so I can blog. Basically, my Puppy and Blogging makes me happiest.

10 Questions

  1. Where do you prefer to shop for makeup (i.e Boots or Superdrug)?
  2. Would you rather live without any lip product or concealer?
  3. Is there a price you wouldn’t pay for makeup?
  4. What’s your favourite affordable makeup brand?
  5. Is there something that’s been on your ‘Makeup Wish list’ for a while now? If so what is it?
  6. What is one thing you do that is essential in your winding down/pamper routine?
  7. How long have you been blogging for and what made you start?
  8. Do you read magazines? If you do which one is your favourite?
  9. What’s one thing from your wardrobe that you pretty much wear on a daily basis?
  10. Do you like the place you live? Or would you be happy to move to a different country?

I nominate:

Firstly, anyone who would like to because as I’ve already posted a tag last week, I don’t want to seem too annoying.

Boots Haul

Last Saturday, I went to Boots and I was on a mission to restock my makeup. Does anyone else seem to come to the end of everything at round the same time? Anyways, it’s not everything I would have liked but I wanted to share what I had so far.

L’Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Clay Shampoo & Conditioner

mini 2I really want to take more care of my hair because it is very long, so if there’s so much of it, its only fair right? But we all know that’s not happening so I might as well just switch up my Shampoo and Conditioner and see what this does.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Sculpt

mini 3I heard so many things about the release of this product and others from this new range. But I don’t think I actually heard if it was any good. So I wanted to try it for myself. That and this is my first contour palette.

L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation

mini 4I haven’t tried a L’Oreal foundation before so I’m quite excited to try this. Again, I heard different things, about how this is different packaging? I could be wrong but I’m definitely desperate to try this out.

Revlon Colorstay Concealer

mini 5I had no idea this was even a thing. I’m glad I’ve found it though, I wanted to try out a different applicator. I also thought I’d try more of a liquid concealer rather than the creamy consistency I go for to see the difference in appearance it gives.

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara

mini 6I was in two minds. Do I get the Lash Sensational that had been raved about or do I try out the new one hoping their run of good mascaras carries on? I went for the latter. I really hope this mascara is as good as I hope. I mean I’m moving away from the Roller lash for this!

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Mattifying Primer

mini 7This was actually seriously needed. My Bourjois Happy Light Serum Primer is seriously running out, so If I didn’t get anything else I would at least have to get this.

I’ve just realised this is mainly L’Oreal products, I must have gravitated towards them because of all their new products that are out and just in general their new packaging, oops…

Hope you enjoyed this mini post for half way through the week. Comment if you’ve tried any of these or if you’re just as curious to try some of these products.

Love, Sophie
