May Favourites 2017

May was a blur. It feels like it happened ages ago but at the same time I can’t believe we’re in June. Anyways, here’s what I’ve been loving this month. Admittedly, it’s not a lot…

My first favourite is the Garnier Essentials Hydrating Day Cream. I was getting stuck in a bit of a rut with moisturisers as none of them were working out for me. However, I picked this up in a desperate hope and amazingly it’s done the job without irritating my skin anymore.

Finding Carter- This series is a couple of years old now but I’ve only just discovered it. It’s about a girl who was abducted when she was younger and when she returns to her family it doesn’t run as smoothly as it should. If you have watched it, comment so we can talk about it, I’ve nearly finished both series.

I included this top in my What I Wear In A Week – College Edition post. It’s honestly so comfortable that I know I’m going to have to get some more that are similar. If anyone has any recommendations, it would be much appreciated. I’m really into the tops that have wording on them for some reason??

Despacito- Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber.

I don’t tend to like any song Justin Bieber is associated with. However, this song has such summer vibes to it, I’m loving it.

This Tresemme Hairspray has been a life saver for me. Particularly when I’m at work I prefer to put my hair in a high bun but if I do that all my baby hairs eventually stick up and I just end up looking like more of a mess. This hairspray definitely does the job.

Calendar App- Recently, I’ve been trying to organise my life. With starting work and driving lessons I needed something to be able to look at to know what I was doing Day to day. So whilst in my head my life’s a mess on the calendar app, it’s clear and structured.

What are some of your favourites this month?

See you soon,

Love, Sophie

About Me

April Favourites 2017

This month has well and truly been a blur. I don’t know how I’ve managed to have a favourite of anything. But somehow I do, so here’s what I’ve been loving this month…

1. Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

For some reason, I have been ADDICTED to KUWTK. I’m not just watching the weekly episodes, I’m now watching old episodes whenever they’re on tv. Which is quite a lot thanks to E! Not going to lie I’ve had KUWTK on in the background pretty much all day.

2. Boots Eye Gel

Last month, I realised my under eyes were starting to look really dry and it was so noticeable when I had foundation on. But since I’ve never bought a eye gel/cream, I didn’t know where to start. However, I found the Boots Eye gel and it’s super cheap.

It’s not only hydrating but it’s so soothing, which helps when I can barely open my eyes on a morning.

3. Dry Shampoo

I have a love/hate relationship with dry shampoo. Although since having late nights at work, this Batiste Dry Shampoo has been an essential for me. It just gives my hair the boost it needs.

4. James Blunt- Bartender

I watched James Blunts performance on All Round To Mrs Browns and I knew this song ‘Bartender’ was going to become my favourite. I’ve listened to the rest of his album and whilst I like his other songs I still love Bartender the best.

5. Shoes

So you can’t really see them but the shoes I was wearing in this picture have become my OBSESSION. I bought them last year but they gave me the worst blisters. Therefore, I forgot about them until I decided to try and wear them in a bit recently. Anyways, I’m literally wearing them everywhere. It also helps that they go with basically every outfit.

6. Boots Anti Blister Stick

The reason I think my shoes have worked so well for me this time is because of this Anti Blister Stick. I’m sure this was is one of my monthly favourites last year and it just had to make a reappearance.

7. Choker

My Mum kindly bought me this choker from Dorothy Perkins as just a small Easter present. It goes with any outfit so I’ve been wearing this A LOT!
8. Design

So this is probably not looking great to any of you but to me this is hours of work. I wouldn’t say it’s a favourite of mine because I think it looks good (I don’t think it does). This is a favourite of mine because I know how much effort and planning went into this.
That’s all of my favourites this month. I’m well and truly drained for no apparent reason. I’m gonna go back to one post a week just because I now work on a Wednesday when I would usually post. Anyways see you soon.

Love, Sophie

About Me

March Favourites 2017

I’m kind of ashamed that this monthly favourites is going to consist of A LOT of tv programmes. I’m not sure how I’ve had the time to watch everything (especially since I decided not to include some others I’ve been watching). Anyways, I did manage to realise some other favourites that I’ll get onto now.

1. J House Vlogs

This is YouTube, it doesn’t count as tv ok? So I’ve been really loving the YouTube channel ‘J House Vlogs’ they’re an American family that vlog (obviously Sophie..) Honestly, I’ve just fallen in love with their videos. I’m just ever so slightly obsessed. They have such a beautiful family.

2. Makeup Bits (all 2 of them)

This month I’ve been loving the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. Everyone has seemingly raved about this for so long, so I knew I needed to purchase it. So glad I did because it gives great coverage and matches my skin tone well.

Another beauty related favourite is this Beauty Blender by Real Techniques. Again, ok I was a little late in getting this but I’m grateful I did, as its now a necessity in my makeup bag. Although, I do feel bad for the brushes I’ve replaced this with.

3. Ed Sheeran’s Divide Album

Every song I’m just in love with. There’s not really anything else to say. However, have to mention Galway girl, Perfect and Nancy Mulligan are just a few of my favourites.

4. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter FormulaIMG_2274With the nice couple of days the UK has had, I’d like to think I’m not as pale as I was a week ago. Anyways, on a night I’ve been using this partly because the smell reminds me of Summer and partly because if I have managed to go less white then I’d like to hold onto it.

5. Ant & Dec Saturday Night Takeaway.

I’m so happy when these two are back on tv. I remember watching this when I was much younger and loving it just as much then as I do now. I’m sure if you live in the U.K you at least know of this show.

6. Jack Wills Hand Lotion

This month I’ve been trying to take care of myself more. And by that all I mean is maybe drink a little more water and moisturise. One thing I’ve found easy to do is use this Hand Lotion. Whether I’m going to bed or just about to leave for College this is so easy to lather on. I also really love the scent of the product.

7. Broadchurch

I remember this time last year the likes of Zoella, speaking non stop of Broadchurch. But to be honest I never gave it a second thought. However, when it was advertised to start this year I thought I’d see what the fuss was about. Its not usually the type of drama I’m interested in, although I love it, its so gripping and I just need to know who did it. If you want to watch it you can on the ITV hub.

8. Jimmy Choo

I received this beautifully delicate perfume for my birthday and I’ve been wearing it pretty much every other day. I’d use it everyday but I never want it to run out…wishful thinking, I know. Anyways, its the perfect everyday scent, even my Mum loves it.

9. Money for Nothing.

My Mum actually introduced me to this programme because she watches it in the gym (ugh fitness). Basically its about a Woman who goes through rubbish and then redecorates things; some she does herself; others she gives to upholsterers for example.  I find it fascinating and always find myself discussing it with my Mum telling her how I’d do it differently. At the end, the woman sells the item and gives the money to the owner who was dropping it off at the tip. If you want to watch it (its probably more interesting than I’ve just made it seem) you can on the BBC iPlayer. I watched the 2 seasons available in about 4 days.

10. The Weather

IMG_2278Lets be honest, this sun has probably gone to my head. The Sun has only made an appearance the past 3 days and already I’m putting it in my favourites. Anyways, I’ve very much enjoyed having the warm-ish weather to enjoy, especially since it probably isn’t going to last.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post. Happy Mothers Day to all you lovely Mums out there. Let me know what some of your favourites have been. See you soon.

Love, Sophie

About Me

February Favourites 2017

Why does February have to be over already?! If you ask me 2016 went far too quickly and it looks like 2017 is doing exactly the same. Anyways, instead of me complaining here’s what I’ve been loving this month.

img_1980Sleek Precious Metals Highlighting Palette

Honestly, I have never been more in love with a highlighter. Its probably my favourite product in my makeup drawer at the minute. I love the creamy consistency and the fact that it’s just like pure glitter on your cheekbones. My friends have been complimenting me on it, which is when you know you’ve got yourself a good product. Anyways, I’d 100% recommend and look out for a makeup post that will show you the results of using this.

img_1978Jack Wills English Velvet Body Spray

My best friend from Psychology class got me this for my Birthday (along with other presents that I’m very grateful for). Its such a fresh scent and I’ve been loving using this everyday.

Ciao Adios- Anne Marie

This has been my favourite song this month. If you haven’t listened to it already, you should check it out because its a really catchy song. And I know that in March Favourites post it will include a long list of songs mainly because of the Brit Awards and all the songs that came out of that, that I’ve now been listening to on repeat.

img_1894Light Pink Oversized Trench Coat

I only bought this coat a couple of weeks ago, but I can’t seem to not wear it when I leave the house (unless I’m walking my dog, that’d be a bit risky to do). Other than that, it seems to make any outfit 10x better. Today, I was wearing basic top and jeans, I put on that coat and it made it seem as if I’d put more effort into my appearance than I actually had.

Side note: I did actually do a blog post including this coat so if you haven’t already checked that out, you could do so here.

I have always watched Catfish, its just SO addictive. But I don’t know whether its because It’s been on tv more or whether its because I’ve got my Mum addicted to it also that I just can’t stop having it playing. Anyways, if you are yet to watch this please do and if you know of the programme please comment down below so we can talk about it together!

img_1979Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser

My skin has been acting up recently and because I haven’t wanted to aggravate it I’ve turned to this Simple product. Personally, for years I’ve always had a simple somewhere in my skincare but this month I’ve loved having this to turn to.

img_1976Earrings are the one piece of jewellery I will wear everyday. Even though that’s the case, I never seem to change which earrings I wear, I just get stuck in a rut. So recently, I’ve been wearing these consistently (I have two piercings in each ear ). These are the Heart Stud Earrings and the top pearly ones, I just don’t have a clue where they came from. Anyone else have something that you can’t remember when you bought it or where but you obviously did, otherwise how do you own it? Just me then…

img_1977With Spring around the corner, I decided to brighten up the lip products I was using. These are the Dior Addict Ultra Lip Gloss and the Clinique Pop Lip Lipstick in the shade Beige Pop. I love these two products together and it leaves my lips moisturised throughout the day.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post. I love writing and reading monthly favourites. Let me know in the comments some of your favourites, I am a bit early with my post. But if you’re the same feel free to comment a link to your favourites post and I’d be happy to read them.

Love, Sophie

About Me

January Favourites 2017

Oo I was so tempted to write 2016 after writing that title. Nevermind, I’m sure I’ll get used to it.

Anyways, I’ve been loving so much this month and I’m guessing it’s because we’ve just had Christmas and I had quite a bit to test out. Enough of me rambling, here’s my January Favourites.

Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette

As soon as I saw the shades in this palette I knew I was in love. Me being stupid I forgot to take a picture of the contents of the palette. But it’s all good cause you can click on the link here or just imagine its beauty. As always, urban decay provides eyeshadow that’s pigmented and blendable.

Victoria’s Secret Sheer Love Fragrance Mist

Everyday without fail I will spray this. I just love the smell and it’s a huge plus that it’s a long lasting scent.

I go through stages of having Spotify and I’m currently obsessed. I have so much time to listen to music at college so it’s very handy. I’ve discovered so many songs that I wouldn’t have if I didn’t have  this. Current songs I’m obsessed with are:

  1. Fake Love- Lauren Sanderson
  2. Queen Elizabeth- Cheat Codes
  3. Fresh Eyes- Andy Grammer
  4. Shed a light- Robin Schulz
  5. Paris- Chainsmokers

I honestly have so many favourite songs at the minute it’d be a whole new post including them all.

No7 Illuminated Makeup Mirror

I didn’t realise how much I needed this in my life. On one hand I can see every flaw my face has but at the same time it makes sure I leave the house with no streak of foundation I’ve forgotten to blend or anything else my silly self usually does.

Tina & Bobby

This was a 3 part drama featured on ITV. It’s about the footballer Bobby Moore. And even though I have no interest in football and didn’t really know who Bobby Moore was. I thought I’d give it a go because Michelle Keegan plays Tina and OMG she is such an incredible actress. I actually really enjoyed it and wished that it had lasted longer.

Rimmel Wonder’Full Mascara

This was a recent purchase and it was kind of on a whim that I bought it. It does the job and separates my lashes perfectly. It holds the curl better than other mascaras I’ve tried for a while.

Black Boots

I bought these when I was back in Newcastle. And as soon as I saw them they caught my eye. I love the heel on these and they’re surprisingly comfortable to walk in. They’re from Miss Selfridge. But I couldn’t find them on the website.

L’Oréal True Match Concealer

I bought this having bought the true match foundation. Recently, I’ve been using this for under my eyes and it really helps to brighten and get rid of my under eye bags.

Bedding + Electric Blanket

At Christmas, I was well and truly spoilt with the amount I got. In particular I got a full bed set. Which is the softest thing I’ve ever felt. And because my parents know how cold I get, they gave me an electric blanket. It’s the best thing to get into a warm bed and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Teddy Bear Super Soft Duvet Cover

Dreamland Cosy Toes Electric Blanket

Zoella Body Lotion

I’m usually very lazy when it comes to body care, especially on a morning. However, it’s fair to say this month I’ve been religiously applying this before I go to college. It smells incredible.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post. Comment down below if you have any favourites this month. See you soon.

About Me

November Favourites 2016

It’s crazy how fast this month and every month this year for that matter, has gone. But it’s also really exciting because it’s getting round to Christmas Timeee!!

Anyways here’s what I’ve been loving during the course of November.

I may have bought myself just a small collection of candles at the beginning of this month. This being one of them. It smells amazing. I just have so many compliments for this candle, I feel quite sad really. Oh well, I’ve just loved burning this and it looks so asethically pleasing in my room.

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here

This itv series started this month and it’s something I look forward to all year round (maybe a slight exaggeration but just go with it). If you don’t know, a bunch of celebrities go into the jungle and compete in different ‘Bush Tucker Trials’ to achieve stars to gain meals for camp. This show makes me so happy. And one of the best things about it, is that it’s on every night for something like 3 weeks. I don’t have to wait for a week for the next episode. Also, if you watch the show, like I do, my favourites are definitely Scarlett and Adam.

Mango Body Spray

This is definitely more of a Sumer time scent. However, it just smells so fresh I can’t help but use it everyday. Also because it’s Boots own, it’s very affordable.

Rockabye – Clean Bandit feat. Sean Paul and Anne-Marie

For me, I definitely had to listen to this song a couple of times before I began to LOVE IT. I think the chorus is catchy so it’s probably going to be one of those songs I’m over within a month. But so far, it’s been at the top of my playlist.

Bourjois Blur the Lines Concealer

Something I picked up this month was this Concealer. I’ve previously used other Bourjois products like this foundation and this primer. But Bourjois has just yet to disappoint me. I love the creamy consistency of this Concealer and it reminds me a lot of the No7 match Made.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post. I didn’t have many favourites this month. But I’m so excited for December because I know there’s going to be so much more I can blog about. See you soon.

Love, Sophie

About Me

October Favourites 2016

THIS IS CRAZY. I’m so incredibly grateful that 500 people decided to follow my blog. Like mine, why? I’ll never know. Thank you all so much.

Yoga With Adriene

Throughout October I successfully completed the 30 Days of Yoga Camp. Its pretty self explanatory, you do a different yoga video everyday. I could feel myself getting stronger during the month and it was one of the best things I decided to do. I’m definitely not the type of person to go for a run. So being able to do Yoga in the comfort of my room and at the times that suited me, was just an added bonus.

Anti Blister Stick

I’m not going to go into too much detail with this one because its kind of gross. Anyways, I have been using this everyday for the past month and it seems to be working. Don’t get me wrong, I still end up with red marks on the backs of my ankles but no blisters. And for that I’m grateful.

I don’t know how I can say I loved this during the whole month because I’m pretty sure I binge watched every episode within 48 hours. If you didn’t know Victoria is an 8 part drama featured on ITV. It had me hooked, so you can imagine how gutted I was when it came to the last episode and it said it wasn’t returning till 2017. Oh yeah, I should probably mention what its actually about. Its the story of Queen Victoria’s early reigning years. I didn’t think it would interest me as much as it did, so if you still can I urge you to watch it. Jenna Coleman is the leading role and I couldn’t think of anyone better, she is incredibly talented.

October is always the month that shows Autumn in full swing. And I can honestly say I’m very happy about that. I love seeing the leaves change colour, the darker nights and the fact that I can have hot chocolates and its acceptable, maybe. However, as much as I love this season, one thing I do not appreciate is how cold it is. Can Mother Nature just bring the freezing temperatures when I’m ready for it? (which is never).

The Michalaks

I’m surprisingly fussy over who I watch on YouTube. I have to really enjoy their content if I’m going to watch everything they upload. So I rarely find anyone new because I just stick to what I know. Although, a few weeks ago I found the Michalaks, I’d heard of them before but thought that they did the same as the Sacconejoly’s so I didn’t see the point in being subscribed to another family YouTube channel. How wrong I was. The Michalaks bring so much more to YouTube than just family vlogs. The editing on their videos are insane. Every week when they upload I feel like I’m about to watch an episode on TV.

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer

I’m pretty sure I have mentioned this in a favourites post before. But I have definitely been reaching for this a lot more recently. It creates an amazing base for Mascara and if I’m not wearing mascara then its just great to have on anyways. I usually have this just on my bottom lashes because it separates my lashes and it looks too clumpy if I put mascara on the bottom too. Also, I’m aware I need to buy the full sized product, don’t judge me…

Little Mix ‘Shoutout to My Ex’

Little Mix aren’t usually one of my favourite bands. Although, this song is very catchy and I haven’t been able to stop listening to it since it came out. Spookily, its just started playing from my playlist I had going on in the background. Yup, still love it.

Soap & Glory Wonderbronze

Ah, its that time of the year again where I become super pale. So as I don’t want to look like an orange during these colder months I’ve been using this as it still has a warm glow but its light at the same time.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post, comment some of your favourites or a link to your favourites post if you’ve done one this month. Can anyone actually believe its November already? Everything is turning Christmassy and I don’t know whether to be excited or scream its too early. Who knows. Anyways, see you soon.

Love, Sophie

About Me

September Favourites 2016

Last month, was probably my busiest out of this year. What with College suddenly taking up a big portion of my time, I’ve been left stuck thinking about what I’ve been loving. Obviously, I came up with some things, so here they are…

Benefit Shy Beam

I have been religiously applying this product because I just adore it. At first, I thought that its subtle glow wasn’t too noticeable, (not that makeup should be, but I’d like to think people notice the effort I put in…) but one of my best friends commented on how nice it is. So that immediately made it one of my holy grail makeup products.

Water Bottle

At the start of September, I was on the hunt for a large water bottle for the longer days, I’d start to endure at Sixth Form.  Eventually, I found this from Dunelm, I really like the size and design. And it has had a place in my bag everyday at college.

Art Based Courses

I didn’t exactly have the start to College I thought I would (if you want to know why feel free to read here). However, I am currently taking 2 art based courses; Photography and Design. And I am loving that I get to spend most of my days being so creative. I love presenting up my sketchbooks so far, I know the work load is going to massively increase and so is the difficulty. But it is just the start of the year and that’s what I’ve been loving so much.

In every favourites post I usually mention one or two songs that I have been loving throughout the month. Although, this time around I have a lot that I’ve been listening to. Therefore, I’m going to just make a list:

  • Hailee Steinfeld ‘Starving’
  • Dua Lipa ‘Blow Your Mind’
  • James Arthur ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’
  • Zara Larsson ‘Ain’t My Fault’
  • Calvin Harris ‘My Way’
  • Digital Farm Animals & Cash Cash ‘Millionaire’ ft. Nelly
  • Any of the Chainsmokers Songs

Now I’ve started typing this one up, I’m pretty sure I have mentioned Friends in a blog post. However, I just want to say that I’m super grateful for the friends I made last month when I started College. Also, to my blogging friends, especially the ones that helped me with my Pyschology homework, that was much appreciated.

Phone Case

There is literally nothing special whatsoever, with this case. I have just really needed it because I put an ‘Emergency £5’ there and usually my Student I.D card. Obviously, it has made sure that my Phone has stayed safe since I drop it minimum 10 times a day. It makes sense that I always have my phone on me to keep the small necessities with it too.

Reminders App

This is already installed into apple devices, and before September I’d never used it. Now, I like to write myself a list of stuff I need to do. Usually, I’ll make one on a Friday night, for the weekend, i.e homework, writing a blog post or just anything that needs doing. It just keeps my life semi-organised.

Ted Baker Lip Balm

My lips have been very dry the past couple of weeks and its probably just down to the change in seasons. So this has definitely been a life saver for me. Its also just been a base to any lip product I put on.

Hope you enjoyed this blog post, I’d just like to thank you all for 450 followers because that’s just crazy. Would love it if you could comment what you’ve been loving this month, or just link your favourites post if you’ve done one. See you soon,

Love, Sophie

About Me

August Favourites 2016

The time has come round once again to write a favourites post and I’m really beginning to wonder where the days are going. Like seriously take me back to the start of Summer when I wasn’t worrying about College starting.

Anyways, it took me a while to think about what I’ve been loving this month as I have just been having a really laid back, do nothing kind of time. But here is what I came up with…

1. My Phone

This seems like such a basic favourite. However, this month my new phone came and I was very excited. I’d basically been using a cracked, bad Wi-Fi connection phone for too long and I was desperate for my contract to end. Now I may have already dropped my new one already, but apart from that I haven’t really put it down, that’s why it’s a definite favourite.

2. L’Oréal True Match Foundation

At first, I have to admit whenever I used this I just craved the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum. But when I realised I was stuck with it (I’m cheap ok? I like to finish products) I knew I had to just go with it. BEST DECISION EVER. I found I just had to keep working with it to get the overall look I wanted. This blends like a dream. It’s probably my main reason for loving it; because of its blend-ability (that a word? probably not.)

3. Tresemme Hair

Currently, I am liking switching up my hair care to see what works best. This month I purchased these (mainly because they were on sale at boots, oops, told you I was cheap) because I wanted to see if the well known brand lived up to my standards. And it most certainly did. I love the scent. I love the how long my hair stays fresh for. I just love the results. Also, whoever thought of the condition first, shampoo second, YOU’RE GENIUS.

4. ‘Closer’ by the Chainsmokers feat. Halsey.

As soon as I heard this song I knew it would end up in my favourites post. It’s just so catchy and I’m also loving the Chainsmokers in general right now.

5. Movies

What can I say, the weather in the U.K hasn’t exactly been glorious sun everyday. Although, I’m starting to think there’s some sort of permanent cloud over where I live. Anyways, a few days this month, I’ve had to search for my favourite movies to watch. This time I reached for ‘Mean Girls’, which my Mum watched for the first time and loved. I mean who wouldn’t? Another I picked was ‘Wild Child’. Both movies I obsess over. Finally, one I watched the other night for the first time  was ’10 things I hate about you’ and to be honest I snapchatted people after I watched it and I just felt really late to the party. Never mind, it was amazing.

6. My Results

This was definitely a highlight to my month. If you haven’t seen my Results post then feel free to read it after this. But it just made me so happy because it really did finally end an era for me (you know, secondary school.)

7. The Schemer.

In no way is this my type of book but I started reading it because my Mum suggested me to when she was only half way through it. In less than 24 hours I had finished the book. My Mum had given up trying to read it because I wouldn’t give it back until I’d finished and it was probably for the best that my Mum let me tell her what happened otherwise I would have exploded. Basically, don’t know which character I despised more. But it keeps you on your toes because you want to know a) what happens and b) if they all get revenge. It was honestly so intense compared to what I usually read and I just wish there was a sequel.

8. Black Bardot Top

It seems these are definitely on trend at the minute. I know mine isn’t exactly a summery colour but it’s not as if it’s actually been nice enough that I look weird to be in black. Anyways, this is so comfortable and I personally think it suits me, I could be wrong. I  believe that even through the colder months I’ll still wear this and just have cold shoulders, why not?

9. L’Oréal Infallible Sculpt Contour Kit

I could have quite easily mentioned this already in  favourites post if not I’ve certainly spoke highly of this product on my blog somewhere. I love this so much. It’s definitely helped make sure I don’t look like a mess when I’d just started contouring. And now I wear it whenever I’m having a makeup day. I love the creamy consistency, this also helps it blend really well also.

10. Independence, Kind of?

This is one of my weird favourites. But this month, I’ve found myself pushing myself out of my comfort zone a lot more. You’ll probably read this and think ‘I do that everyday’. So from simple things to talking on the phone to someone I don’t know, or ordering drinks at Costa. These are all non-big-deal things, but to me I’m feeling happy with myself that I’ve managed to do. On Saturday, I’m going to get my hair done, ON MY OWN. For me, that’s new and something I’m not used to. This is definitely a weird favourite. But we all have things that we have to step out of our comfort zone for, mine are just smaller. And by doing them more, they’ll just become mundane everyday tasks. This month, I realised I’m starting to do the small things for myself and I actually kind of like it…

Hope you enjoyed this blog post. I love not only writing favourites posts but reading them too. So comment down below some of your favourites or if you’ve posted one then link it so I can give it a read. Also, I’m nearing 400 followers (currently at 380) which is insane, so thank you. See you soon.

Love, Sophie

About Me

July Favourites 2016

When I came to write up this post, I thought I’d be struggling to think of any favourites at all. But once I started, I realised how much I actually have been loving this month. Turns out when you have time to do what you want, you end up with a pretty extensive favourites posts…

1. Maybelline Brows

july favourites 4This month has been the time to learn how to do my brows properly. I wanted to start off simple so I picked up the Maybelline Master Brow Pro Palette and the Brow Drama. These have been amazing if you’re a beginner like me in the Brow department. I’ve started to get a routine going with how I do my eyebrows and I really love the look of them because I manage to achieve a natural-but-you-know-I’ve-done-something-look.

2. Real Techniques

july favourites 6Before this month, I had been pretty hectic with school so any makeup I decided to throw on I’d just quickly use my hands to rub it in (the most was concealer). Don’t worry, I wasn’t spreading bacteria from my hands to my face. I washed my hands thoroughly before and after. Anyways, now I have my long, Summer off its been the best thing to take my time doing my makeup makeup and during this I have found my love for my makeup brushes again. I always turn back to the Real Techniques Core Collection, which is the one I’ve been loving this month.

3. The Weather

If you’re from the U.K you’ll know we had a recent heatwave. And OH MY GOD it was the best thing. 30 degree heat whilst sat in my back garden it just doesn’t happen. I am wishing for more of that weather in the last month I have off. So whoever controls the weather front can you sort that out please? Thanks.

4. Ben & Jerry’s Ice-cream

With these lovely temperatures, I obviously needed something to stay cool, right? Well I turned to Ben & Jerrys Ice Cream and what can I say, it was a very good decision on my part. My favourites are definitely the Cookie Dough and Chocolate Fudge Browning.

5. Sally Hansen

july favourites 2

Recently, I have been loving painting my nails. So the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails has been perfect as a base coat (I’m not even sure if that’s what I should be using as one). It really does help to strengthen my nails and when I take off my nail varnish there’s no damage. Sometimes, I’ll just wear this on its own because I do just like the look on its own.

6. Ted Baker Highlighter (kind of)

july favourites 3

At Christmas I got the Brilliance of Beauty Set by Ted Baker. I don’t think its currently for sale but inside was this blusher. As much as I love the blush shades the middle one I like to use as a highlighter. It looks amazing and I use it everyday in my makeup routine now.

7. The Blogging Community.

This month I’ve had so much energy to put it into blogging. Which in turn I’ve managed to talk to so many other bloggers. For me, even just commenting on other bloggers posts makes me happy because I just love communicating with other people. It helps that everyone is always so kind and supportive.

8. L’Oréal Clay to Spray Dry Shampoo

july favourites 5I have a love hate relationship with dry shampoo. Some brands just don’t seem to work well with my hair. Until I found the L’Oréal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo. I had purchased the rest of the range and on a whim picked this up as well. It took me a while to use because I thought it would be like the rest. HOW WRONG I WAS. This is a life saver (or should I say hair saver?) that I’ve been waiting for. I couldn’t be happier with the results after spraying this. Thank you L’Oréal.

9. Favourite Song- ‘Perfect Strangers’ Jonas Blue

What can I say? It’s a catchy song and I’ve been loving it this month.

10. Notebooks

july favourites 2016

With blogging more often during the Summer, I was starting to get overwhelmed with all the blog post ideas I had and nowhere to really note them down. So I was very happy when I found these in ‘The Works’ for £2 and £3 in the sale down from £8 and £12, which are crazy prices. I think these are super cute and I’ve already started using them for blogging.

Hope you enjoyed this favourites post. If you’ve already put up your favourites post then please do comment the link down below so I can read it. If not comment down below some of your own favourites from this month. See you soon.

Love, Sophie
